City: Spirngfield
State: Mo
Children & ages: Emily, 13 (Yikes!!) and Stepdaugher Hannah, 10
Occupation: Student, Drury University and Mom
Hobbies/Interests: Running, exercising, reading, camping, and spending
time with my family
Favorite high school memories:
Like many, I have great
memories of crusing the strip, going to parties, both high school and UMR,
going to Alex's after movies, St. Pat's, and just hanging out with friends.
It scares me to death to think of my girls doing some of the same things I
did growing up!! I pray they make better choices than I did!
What have you been up to since high school?:
After high school, I went to UMR for one year, and decided I wasn't ready
for college. Matt Mayhan and I married, had a daughter, Emily, were married
for 14 years, and divorced several years ago. During those 14 years, I went
to school off and on, but could never figure out what it was that I wanted
to do. After I went through a very painful divorce, I knew it was time that
I finish my life-long quest - finish school! After a couple of years of
being a single mom, I met my soul mate, my Benjamin, and we were married.
I have never been happier! And, I am one semester graduating from Drury
University with my BSED and plan on teaching elementary school. I have
truly been blessed!
Words of wisdom:
Live each day like there
is no tomorrow.

What have you been up to since high school?:
Work – marriage and one child. Through the constant attention and support of
my husband, I’ve achieved a strange sense of self worth that always seemed
to elude me in high school. I’ve discovered that my abilities are virtually
endless and any challenge that’s put before us we can overcome. Sounds kind
of corny when you read it, but it makes all the difference in the world when
you live it.
Words of wisdom:
No matter how hard
things seem in your life be sure to keep yours eyes open. You don’t have to
look very far to find someone who has it harder than you.

What have you been up to since high school?:
Randy and I
attended college at Mizzou. We married in August of 1986. We have lived in
Columbia the entire time. Randy is a respiratory therapist at University
Hospital. I taught kindergarten for 8 years in the Boonville, MO school
system. Then when I became pregnant with the quadruplets I stopped
teaching. They were born April 7, 1994. I was a stay-at-home mom for 6 and
1/2 half years. I did work part-time at a children’s clothing store. I
went back to teaching last year when the kids started first grade. I now
teach kindergarten at the school they attend.

Occupation: Mom

Favorite high school memories:
Laura, Dana, Lois,
Renee, Shuzette, Doug, Jeff, Karl, and other good friends who made high
school a good memory for me. Mr. and Mrs. Priest, Mrs. Adams, Mr. Arthur,
and my other patient teachers at RHS.
What have you been up to since high school?:
After high school I went to BYU and majored in Math Education. I met my
husband my junior year while I was preparing to spend a semester abroad in
Paris. Going to France never materialized as I got married the summer
between my junior and senior years of college in 1985. We had Jessica in
1987, the semester before Eric graduated. We moved to Seattle, where Eric
grew up, in December 1987 for Eric's job at Arthur Young. After two years
and one more daughter, Caprice in 1989, we moved to the Salt Lake City,
Utah, area to go to work for a smaller, private firm. Kara was born in
1991, and Mitchell in 1994. Erlc left his firm to become CFO at a golf club
manufacturing company, and then went on to be the CFO at an aluminum
etrusion/manufacturing company where he has been for six years. He really
enjoys "extreme sports". He is still in physical therapy from smashing the
bones in his elbow from roller blading on high ramps with the kids at a
party on New Years. He's taken up snowboarding and was really bummed this
winter that he couldn't go with his broken elbow. He mountain bikes and
takes the kids skiing . He grew up water-skiing and as the kids get older,
I imagine they'll pick that up too. Every summer, management at his company
goes on a "retreat", and after the first one down to Zion National Park
climbing up cliffs where there was nothing to break my fall, he goes without
me. They've gone whitewater rafting, mountain biking in Moab, hiking
through Zion's narrows--all kinds of stuff I just don't do. As for an
occupation, I have been fortunate to be able to stay home with my children.
(I would tell my children I do have a job, I just don't get paid!) I guess
I’m the epitome of the soccer mom. Up until this year, our district had
year-round school and some of my kids were always home. This past year they
changed to a traditional schedule, and I’ve been alone for the first time in
15 years. I volunteer at the school two afternoons a week tutoring kids in
math, but except for that, I spend most of my
Words of wisdom:
Never having been one to
be known for her wisdom, I would just say find out what's important to you,
and live accordingly. I'm so impressed with all the good things you've all
been doing with your lives.

Thanks so much to Ken
and Martha for all their work on the website/reunion. Thanks also to Billy
and all the rest of you who serve or have served in the military. This past
year has probably taught all of us how blessed we are to live how and where
we do. We keep you in our prayers.
